Before and after clearing the final honey off Weston Park Museum rooftop apiary yesterday, glorious condition but hard work #BeeFarmer @SheffMuseums

State of play in numbers, 12 apiaries of 20 cleared of honey supers, so 8 left, that’s 300 full supers (500 are back) to still to return, so we are around 60% complete and expect to finish clearing honey around Halloween 😬 two weeks earlier than last year but a bigger harvest 👍

Sloes are looking amazing this year 👍

Our 2025 spring/summer cut comb boxes safely stored, these are all fully capped frames of honey (unwired) - I can’t tell you how stressful it is producing this volume each year #BeeFarmer

Fecking dadant smokers 🤷‍♂️ anyone able to recommend one that last ? used 8hrs a day for 6 months 💨 maybe I expect too much
September 4, 2025 at 4:22 PM
In numbers, as of today we’ve got 699 supers sat on 299 full colonies, 58 of these are sat on the heather moors, I’ve already harvested 1.22 tonnes of honey and the end forecast is approaching 7 tonnes 😀 all a bit daunting 💪 picture from today too

May start to strip honey main crop this Saturday, it’s soggy sites first 👍🐝

Buried the little rabbit earlier, we’ve had some heavy rain so figured the ground would be damp but dug down 12” and it was bone dry all the way - going to take months of rain to fix things 💧
