most of the deepest cuts wont kick in until right after the midterm elections, so we have a little time to prepare. at the scale of destruction i can only assume democrats will retake congress, but im not actually sure if they'll reverse any of this.

i dont think this makes complete sense. you cant say, build a democracy then give the "freedom" for anti-democracy zealots to take power and destroy it. some rules need to be put in place for the greater good.

the tolerance paradox warns that to be tolerant of the intolerant you open yourself up to losing all that youve built. the same applies to the concept of democracy, by allowing the anti-democratic into politics you set yourself up for authoritarianism. her removal, is a win, our future gets easier.

it should be a warning to leftists not to dwell too long in the hellish nature of things. for yanis varoufakis i think hes found comfort in pain, and has become skeptical of any wins. celebrate your wins, stay tethered to humanity and the struggle for victory.
