There are lots of modal filters in Edinburgh. Why is the council so determined to remove the 3 in the Braid Estate (highlighted yellow) at a cost of c£400k so that around 4,000 more drivers can speed through our residential streets?

I’d like the beautiful cherry blossom trees on Braid Avenue to be protected from being cut back to accommodate the trial of unnecessary, unpopular and expensive cycle lanes. As you can see from the council document, Braid Avenue is in the Morningside Conservation Area.

Best time of year to take in the view of Edinburgh Castle from the Vista point on Braid Avenue.

Still don’t understand why current layout isn’t made permanent. According to the council it works and could be improved with speed reduction measures. Option 3 is described as not being aligned with council policy, it benefits drivers, and does nothing for pedestrians. So why did TEC vote for it?

This is a key junction on the Greenbank to Meadows Quiet Route at 5pm, yet @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social has confirmed that the proposed new design will increase traffic volumes throughout the Braid Estate. Surely the TEC should be aiming to reduce rat-running traffic not encouraging it?

Extract from next week's Transport and Environment Committee papers confirms that the Meadows to Greenbank Quiet Connection has reduced traffic in the Braid Estate without increasing traffic on alternative route. Does this mean they might change their minds about ripping it out?

Looks like another driver has gone through the bollards that protect pedestrians accessing Midmar Paddock. Yet the council refuses to add speed reduction measures in the Braid Estate, and supports a scheme where traffic volumes are expected to increase by 67% to 2018 levels of 10,000 vehicles a day.
