The term “woke” has become inflammatory and we need to find a way to reclaim woke. Empathy is the answer, no matter who or what you are.

I was trying to think of something intelligent to say about how many more deaf kids we are about to have from rubella and measles, while we simultaneously delete all accessibility/special ed protections, but "fuck" is pretty much all I could come up with.

Look to Mother Nature for answers. In the darkest of nights, there are always stars shining - be a star. And be like the trees, too - branching out and standing tall through every season. The sky is incredible, holding everything in place. That’s what I’ll strive to do. May you do the same.
