That's enough to put me off for life. I love plastic fake trees, the fake-r the better

Labour has selective hearing on immigration, and they ignore everything else. They will always be out-manoeuvred on the right. They're utterly devoid of nous or strategy. Hopeless

Tamerlane by Justin Marozzi, absolutely fantastic bit of biography and history.

That's amazing and well done!

I'm on board with that. But the change of narrative needs to come from the top. Not just style but also showing delivery, at a more rapid pace.

They do take time to achieve but the narrative of it'll take us 10 years to fix isn't doing them any favours. That just tells me they want a 2nd term. They boxed themselves in with the no tax rises thing. The obvious answer is access to EU market but there again, too scared of Reform

Labour has selective hearing: Reform-like on immigration but not on the underlying issue of why they appeal - better public services. The promised Change hasn't arrived. Just timidity

Maybe. Last week they showed some grottiness. It's making me want to go there though so it's working!

I was thinking the same. But at the same time it looks incredible

Taking the fight to fly-tippers but not, em, anyone else... he's an enormous disappointment... Management but not leadership

This. Beaten only by a tarte tatin which isn't British but one of my fave desserts of all time

Apple or rhubarb crumble with some excellent custard

It really helps. I was blind but now I see - thank you. You explained it so beautifully

Anyone have a UK PayPal alternative? I need to exit that

Off to download and pay for the duck and go thing. The tech overlords are driving people to their competitors. Winning strategy 👏 👌

I'm able to separate myself and my actions from other people's and don't judge the ones with the most difficult choice. You're very focused on this rather than the majority white people who happily voted for him. Why is that?
February 5, 2025 at 10:30 AM
Thanks. I've similarly disregarded your selective opinion as irrelevant
February 5, 2025 at 9:33 AM
Sizeable chunk of the democrat vote when SIGNIFICANTLY MORE than that sliver voted for the Orange Menace? Should have replaced Biden earlier, had a primary, a better candidate, a candidate who didn't speak to the economy, gone on Joe Rogan. But yes, let's blame the anti genociders instead
February 5, 2025 at 9:18 AM
How wonderful to blame those who've lost family, friends or take a principled stand. Rather than the bigots, crazies and greedy who voted for him and outnumber the former massively.

Thank you. I've looked up where Cleveland is on a map, for a future trip! One to see in person i hope

Is it a painting or is the tent actually up? It looks stunning
January 27, 2025 at 5:35 PM
It's still down and it's pretty widespread. They're also not on BlueSky but on the other place
January 23, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Thank you for this measured analysis. Tech bros on one hand and a Democratic gerontacracy on the other - and they wonder why they lost. Bracing myself for the future

Chris Hughes looks like a younger blond Peter Mandelson, I can't read to the end cos my mind just keeps spinning that round

I deleted Instagram and uninstalled the app. Took some finding though, they don't want you to do it...
