As a former weekend newsroom guy: Home pages that require manual updating can go overlooked during light-staffed weekend shifts. Especially if there isn't an editor on.

Regardless, two directly competing headlines is discouraging. One story w/all facts = much more helpful for readers.

I'm sure this is far down the list of worrying impacts, but I will *deeply* miss print paper layout and design. The art and skill of it, of course — but also having a static, thoughtfully organized and *vetted* collection of stories to counterbalance the never-ending digital newsfeed.
