OTD in 1950 Irish playwright, critic & activist #BernardShaw died aged 94. Author of over 60 plays including Man and Superman, Pygmalion, and Saint Joan. He was the first person to win both a NobelPrize and an Oscar. His words continue to challenge, charm & change the world #ShawSociety

The garden at Shaw's Corner was teeming with bees, bugs & butterflies enjoying the summer flowers 🌼. It’s easy to see why the nature-loving #BernardShaw & his wife fell in love with their home in Ayot St Lawrence. Shaw gave his house to the @nationaltrust.org.uk in 1944
