Second rec: Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao!!! Iron Widow's plot is "what if Pacific Rim and Chinese mythology fused into a book, and also there's a poly mmf romance?" It's beautifully written, completely entrancing, and brutal. It's like an action movie in all the best ways.
