It's been a while since I saw an outlet that had what I can safely call journalists with ethical standards. The Times is hit or miss, and same for The Post. I'm impressed with the pedigree of PP's writers so far.

Eric, I am skeptical that journalism in this form still works. Powerful liars have too many willing accomplices in the media now. However, I am hoping that Murrow's vision for journalist is not dead if enough people will speak truth to power.

At this point, with Bezos owning the WAPO, the last strongholds of journalism have lost credibility. In a critical moment in America's history, WAPO made sure journalism and democracy could die in the darkness.

You owe your readers an explanation of your failings during the 2024 election. If democracy dies in the darkness, you at WAPO are all doing your part to create more shade in which for it to wither.
