Nobel winning poet Seamus Heaney describes his father as “undrowned” in a poem. It doesn’t get more literary and literate, not to mention literal, than that.

as @tupped.bsky.social writes here, the issue is settled in Europe: Trans people's rights have been written into law. It is the UK that is the extreme outlier, and Irish people who are overly saturated in UK media tend to fall into that orbit too.
