#Columbia expelled student #antiNazi protestors in 1936. USA protects the KKK, who collectively murdered Black people. Yet, peacefully protesting a country that the Hague said is committing genocide is some how antisemitic and illegal. K. #AntonyLoewestein has the answer. #MahmoudKhalil #Khalil

Hubig’s Pies King Cake debut! Since 1921 Hubig’s has been New Orleans tradition. Savory Simon, on the logo, was a real person! Born in 1860, Simon Hubig was a son to German immigrants. He had bakeries in OH, TX, & LA. Happy Mardi Gras #kingcakes #hubigspies #mardigras2025 #louisiana #lundigras

I’ve only had to document 2 #watertowers in La & they are, quite frankly, amazing (to me anyway!) The S Dakota Historical Society has a great guide for evaluating water towers. It is for their state but has solid nationally applicable info #southdakota #historicalsocieties #historicpreservation

It is not clear yet. Some think 106 is safe, others think it will be next after NEPA and the ACHP. This screenshot is from ACRA, more can be found here: acra-crm.org/your-congres... ACRA has a great newsletter that updates weekly, I find it really helpful!

Pic from 2016. New Orleans, Upper Ninth Ward, past Poland Ave. I took it from the ca.1925 drawbridge at the ICC canal. The canal that residents did not want; 100 years later we see that everything they feared came true. #neworleans #bywater #uppernine #lowernine #handpaintedsigns #signpainters

#HodgesGardens State Park(ca.1957) before it permanently closed in 2018. NR listed 2016. Sadly musch of #louisiana believes its citizens deserve less of this & more tax breaks for huge oil refineries and more #canceralley #laleg #NRHP #lastateparks

#LaLeg voted to close ca.1957 Hodges Gardens State Park in 2018. No words for how magical this place was-a rare wonder w/ a serene lake, arboretum, botanical gardens. Mr Hodges was a pioneer in reforestation. The park was listed on the #NRHP in 2015, this the visitor center. #louisiana #lastateparks
