Can you believe that when we were kids you'd watch a movie like this and they'd be like "This 10-year old has a MILLION DOLLARS. He's gonna have the raddest adventure you've ever seen!"

It's #tolktober Day 3! And that means it's time for my word - MOUNT! Nothing is more metal than a horde of orc warg riders so I decided to give you a closer look at one of these baddies on the edge of the forbidden Fangorn Forest.

Thanks @rogueprintco.bsky.social for the invite!

"'But it isn't wrong to want to live?'

'No. But when we crave power over life -endless wealth, unassailable safety, immortality- then desire becomes greed. And if knowledge allies itself to that greed, then comes evil. Then the balance of the world is swayed, and ruin weighs heavy in the scale.'"

That's all I remember reading, anyways. Finally, my TBR pile includes:
The Tombs of Atuan by Ursula K. Le Guin
Death in Space by Christian Plogfors and Carl Niblaeus
Ultramega by James Harren and Dave Stewart
Death Fight Forever by Laser Wolf Attack

The Moon is Following Us by Daniel Warren Johnson and Riley Rossmo (Mike Spicer on colours). Warning: hard read for parents of young children. Incredibly powerful, loving and imaginative. Parents do everything they can to save a young girl trapped in a dreamworld, including sacrificing themselves.

I had already read Into the Odd by Chris McDowall several years ago, but we were in Strategies Games & Hobbies in Vancouver a couple weeks ago and they had a print copy, which has such a beautiful cover, so I had to buy it. I reread this thinking to compare and contrast it with Mythic...

After the Quinns Quest review of Mythic Bastionlands by Bastionland Press/Chris McDowall I read that, which looks very fun and interesting, with a huge emphasis on thematic archetypical Knights and spooky esoteric Myths.

Area 51 by Annie Jacobsen (on audiobook, read by Jacobsen herself). I heard Annie being interviewed on Dan Carlin’s podcast and was curious to hear more about the nuclear powers and secret agencies as a reference for my Delta Green campaign.

The Message and We Were Eight Years in Power by Ta-Nehisi Coates. I had seen a couple videos of Coates speaking on social media so I was curious, and naturally, I’m reading these in reverse publication order by accident. I listened to these on audiobook.

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I had been hearing about this book for years, especially in Ed circles. I listened to the audiobook and it was just so lovely, especially when I put it on while cooking or working in the yard. Makes me want to garden, learn, explore nature. Must read.

The Sailor on the Seas of Fate by Michael Moorcock. This was my second delve into Elric of Meliboné’s adventures and I adore the psychedelic fantasy. Every other paragraph becomes an ultra vivid image in my mind. I wish we had full Moebius illustrated graphic novels of all of these stories.

I finished reading The Expanse book series by James SA Corey(main series, not the short stories) after two years or so of plugging away at them. It was all fantastic. Final three books took a turn and weren't my favorite of the whole run, but still comparable and fun reads.

I remembered to turn on timelapse this time! #art #digitaldrawing #knight
My composition is nothing special, but I spent a morning drawing instead of doing nothing so that's good.

Been working on and off, between all the awful excitement of my life over the past 7 days. Here's the rough drawing and the "finished" piece. #starwars #digitalart #noAI
