Portrait #4. This time on fabriano artistic hot pressed. MUCH better than Arches Hot pressed. Used Qor watercolors. I think I’m getting the hang of the face. Now need to work on hair. Tried to use gouache but it definitely wasn’t the right color.

Portrait #3. this one turned out much better. I tried Holbein again on different hot pressed paper. I still think it looks a little blotchy but overall I’m much happier with it.

Second portrait and I didn’t even finish it. This time I used hot press paper and did not like it. The skin looks so rough and mottled. Not sure if it was the paper or paints. I think it’s important to show the progress though.
