If your senator is one of the folks on the Senate finance committee, perhaps he/she is holed away reading the 1000s of pages of supporting statements submitted by other senators on the committee. A/k/a due diligence. At least, that is what I'm hoping they are doing this weekend.

It was disheartening to read some of the replies on the WSJ's site that show how little some of these critics understand about the scientific method, especially the very basic difference between correlation and causation.
