Haven't made Bo Kho in a while. It makes a great lunch on overcast autumn days!

Here's a decent recipe:

‪Bee Gathering Nectar

Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane, Australia

I made this using my Tamron 180 3.5 1:1 EF and Canon MR-14EX. The combo works well on the GFX 50R, but hand-held focus can be a pain.

My first attempt at ice cream went better than expected. Followed a French-style recipe ( www.fifteenspatulas.com/homemade-van... ) - egg custard and whipped cream. The only deviation I made was adding 2 mashed Cavendish bananas. It came out very rich, so one scoop is enough for dessert.

Cradle Peak from Black Bluff Lookout after some snowfall. I shot this using my GFX 50R mounted with a K-mount Tokina RMC II 70-210 4 (www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/...).

This is one of the first photos I made using my Fujifilm GFX 50R when I acquired it a few years ago. I had no native glass, just an m42 adapter, so this was shot with an Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 50 1.4.

Fern, Mount Tamborine, Queensland, Australia.

Watched the 1984 version of The Bounty today. Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Day-Lewis, Liam Neeson and pre-whack-job Mel Gibson. Bit of a mixed bag - Vangelis soundtrack on a historical drama was a bit ... interesting ... but worked once I was settled in. Enjoyed it overall. #80smovies #strayaday

Mosquito, Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Brisbane, Australia.

This mosquito was hiding under a leaf. I don't actually remember how I spotted it, but this photo is upside down.

Yep, when you hear that mining is huge, remember they mean the profits are huge...

The Hospitality industry pays more wages to Australians than does mining.

I embedded my Bluesky profile's feed into my Ghost blog. However, I had some help from @vincentwill.com.

Driving back from Katoomba, we took some back roads between Coolah and Tamworth, and drove past a field of sunflowers near a tiny town called Spring Ridge.

Years ago, I set up a GSuite account, when it was free. Predictably, it ended up being a trap. I'm now paying monthly to host accounts for my wife and I. It's unnecessary. I'm in the process of migrating to self-hosted alternatives, and will progressively document the process over the coming weeks.

I have started using a cheap hand-turned manual coffee grinder for my french press coffee. I put the beans through once, and then put the ground beans through again for a consistent grind. It takes about as long as my kettle takes to boil. Good arm exercise for this sedentary remote worker.

My first Bluesky lesson - setting up a vanity handle on a subdomain. I followed this documentation - bsky.social/about/blog/4... - and when validating, I used the DNS method, which seemed to work on the surface.
