I find the words of the great Gil Scott-Heron jump out to soothe my worries in times like these.

It helps to know that poets saw these kinds of things coming. Now it’s our job to do the same for the future. Terrifying.

I visited the Florida Keys a few years ago and was struck by the absolute strangeness of it. Granted this is no doubt distilled through years of rural Canadian heritage but the bizarre and friendly bookstores, restaurants and museums made a lasting impression.

Probably my favourite sub-200 page story not written by Harlan Ellison. An absolute must for fans of any kind of narrative crossover between speculative fiction, catholicism and the occult.
