I blame all this on Ronald Reagan who removed what was called the fairness doctrine. This allowed the public airwaves to be used as propaganda for those "uneducated" that trumpy loves who don't have the critical thinking skills to discern when they are being manipulated.

In the larger context, it does seem like humanity is in a breach between two behavioral forks in the road:
we are all in this together for the betterment of all (woke)
or
the rise of the "sovereign individual" (narcissism) and lack of care for others (unwoke)

One of the missing things about the 1972 "Limits to Growth" research, was that: democracy seems to be an artifact of abundant resources, and as they deplete; empathy, kindness and consideration of others wanes, while narcissistic authoritarianism comes into popularity... and here we are.

Other people are leaving the country too Jake. My wife works for a London-Based company and is getting a work visa... So we're moving to the UK June 1st.
