I think IDE don't use it much specifically because it's such a good indicator for the brain. If the IDE is wrong on it's highlighting then it can be _very_ bad for the user

That's what I did with my own website, hosted on GitHub page, using a generator to write content (pelican/Jekyll), otherwise I've made the theme by hand with bootstrap as a base. It's nice freedom
