Looking for some feedback / ideas 💡

So I have this basic tunnel rolling mechanic. Controls are the same as regular platforming, but I'm wondering if I could / should do something different with controls within tunnels...like maybe 4 directional movement🤔❓

Creating a tile map for one of the areas in my pixel art, classic Zelda-like Doctor Who fan game.

The thing I've learnt is that tile maps are a real trial and error to refine down 😅

This week in my 2D Zelda-like Doctor Who fan game, I've been playing with push blocks and floor switches.

Still a bit janky and lacking a push animation for the player character, but it works!

Where that portal takes you will be revealed another time 😅

Here's a little example of some Sonic Screwdriver usage in my classic Zelda-like Doctor Who game :)

Drag the Sonic Screwdriver around and it will reveal objects that it can interact with, in this case a switch that extends a bridge.

Pixel Doctor Who update:

You'll unlock key abilities by collecting different gadgets as you progress through the game, the first of which is the Sonic Screwdriver.

Once you've got the Sonic, you can use its drag & drop behaviour to interact with objects.

I've finished the intro to my classic Zelda-like Doctor Who fan game.

Every numbered Doctor will definitely be playable (only 14 has animations at the moment). If I have time then I'll add in Fugitive and War Doctors.

Here's the first bit of test gameplay for the new pixel Doctor Who game I'm now working on. Much more classic Zelda-like in appearance, but I'm still planning to retain some of the point & click elements from the old concept.
