Can't stress enough how important it is to call/email/fax your senators about this today. @eevieechoes.bsky.social made a great script for opposing the cuts to trans healthcare:

I'm one of many in my community of Americans who would be grievously affected by the most recent passing of the "Big Beautiful Bill" by the Republican majority House of Representatives. This bill will, on top of restricting and paywalling life saving medical care for millions of Americans, include an all ages ban on gender affirming care for people of all ages. Such a legal precedent would create sweeping discriminatory attacks on the trans community, forcing them to medically detransition as well as severely damage the livelihoods of other people who rely on gender affirming care. Multiple peer reviewed studies have shown that gender affirming care saves lives, improves mental health outcomes and reduces suicidality in people of all ages. From a biochemical standpoint, once a body has been adapted to gender affirming hormone replacement therapy, any changes to that regimen will have drastic, dramatic, and deeply negative effects to all people who rely on this care. Another part of the bill would reduce the dependent age to 7 years old. There is no feasible way for a 7 year old to be medically independent and it would introduce completely new and unprecedented barriers to medical care in this country, which already has poor medical care accessibility. The people of this country need to be able to access their medicine, need to be able to access life-saving care. If you vote yes to this budget bill, you will be sentencing MILLIONS of Americans to death. I urge you and your constituents to say NO to this bill and save American lives."
