18.8% had an AAS of 0 -> no sources covered them

15.6% had an AAS of >=20 (considered as doing better than most of its contemporaries).

Outputs on pre-print servers had the lowest AAS, average mentions, and citations.

20 most frequent publishers align with the largest publishers globally (e.g., Elsevier, Springer) w/ not much yearly variation
However MDPI & Frontiers became more prominent over time.
Prominent Irish & European funding agencies were in the top 20 funders amongst 1,959 unique funders in our dataset

We found...
⬆️ in outputs from 2017 to 2020 with a steep incline from 2019 to 2020, and an increasing trend into 2021. Outputs have not returned to pre-pandemic (2019) levels.
A majority of outputs available #OpenAccess (73.2%) with general increases over time but 2021/2022 were higher than 2023

After de-duplication/filtering, we ended up with over 58,000 health-related research outputs from over 300 Irish research organisations...

There's not enough talk about #BigWellness which is about 3-4x larger than #BigPharma and highly unregulated and unscientific in their health claims. For example, dietary #supplements are not evaluated by the US FDA for safety or effectiveness.

The principal perceived benefits of #AI chatbots include: time saved on drafting manuscripts, language translation, or generating figures/tables.
61.8% of respondents viewed AI chatbots as very helpful or helpful for general administrative tasks and 44·5% had previously used them in research.
