Honestly, not many OST's really caught my ears this year, but from Beatars first ep I was like "oh yes we are back!" The smooth jazzy music really makes Beastars standout from the pack in a good way

Yes Im giving best visuals to a fully CG show and it fully deserves it. Girls Band Cry had some of the most creative and hilarious comedic sequences that coudlve only been made in CG. the Character Models were great and so were the band performances

Part of what made Makeine so good was the wide range of romance anime tropes it attacked head on. With that came a cast of more than a dozen wacky characters that while familiar, felt refreshing. Even the bland MC was good fun!

In such a wacky setup, you need some serious spinkled here and there. Well in Dungeon Meshi Marcille played the "straight man" perfectly while adding her spark to the chaos from time to time. Yes she plays a bigger role in the story, but I think this award is perfect for her

While there were clearly some story and pacing issues with Euphos final season, the one excellent constant was Kumiko.
At the center of her story, it was seeing her growth and struggle as president that made this 3rd season a worthy closure to this dear franchise

While there were clearly some story and pacing issues with Euphos final season, the one excellent constant was Kumiko.

Makeine had three fantastic ending sequences, but Crazy For You was clearly a step above the rest and an easy winner for me. Beautifully directed and animated it added an extra bittersweetness to Lemon's arc in the best way possible!

The award I was torned the most about, Beastars almost stole this win at the final hour, but in the end Im still giving it to the elegance of Diaries' 2nd op. The way it fits with the song is top notch and I particularly loved the sequence with the hands

In the end I wasnt the biggest fan of Dandadan, but it fully deserves the win for best episode.
More than just an emotional side story, the way it was written/directed and structured elevated it to the tier of masterclass standing out brilliantly from the rest

Unlike other years, my top anime wasnt clear cut. But in the end, I think that Dungeon Meshi is a worthy winner. A wholesome and creative take on dungeons with fantastic animation and a loveable cast, what is there not to love? It sure was a highlight of my year!
