Seeing neo-Nazis welcomed on the streets again takes me back to the 1970s. I naively thought we had grown up and left that behind, but Einstein's infantile disease, the measles of humanity is fast returning to Norfolk, enthusiastically encouraged by opportunistic local politicos.

Great thread, Philip! What is now known about causes of decline in UK? Our colonies collapsed when neighbouring houses replaced hedges with fencing. Dozens of pairs would formerly nest under our tiles.
