The Post includes a Getty image by Andrew Caballero – Reynolds, showing a black car to the left, and to the right are three people, the side of a woman in sports attire, Trump in his golf attire, facing toward the left of the image and behind both of them a man with his back to the camera. Trump’s jaw is a bit slack, and his posture a bit slumped. This is most likely one of the images of him setting out to go golfing during Labor Day weekend.

This #ArnhemStories comes from Museum Arnhem, where volunteers help realise Richard Kofi’s “Draden van ons Nederlandse Slavernijverleden (2025)”. I was able to listen and chat as M. and I stitched on a knitted piece of water, and I worked off a window of Kasteel Zypendaal with a punch needle.

This #ArnhemStories involves a stunning young Kwanzan Cherry (Prunus serrulata) at a busy intersection. Busses leave central station & cars zoom to & from the Nelson Mandelabrug. You can see the famous electric trolley lines (running since 5 sept 1949), a beloved “bakfiets” & an infamous Fatbike.

Spring is bursting through in Arnhem. We grow raspberries, red currants, and another kind of berry (that I was gifted by a friend and forgot the name) in our backyard.
It’s been a wet winter. But we live on top of a sandy ice age moraine, so the water seeps away quickly.

Field recording in the dunes of Starrevlak 🇳🇱 : tiny whispers and ticks of helmgras, alarm calls of water birds as they signal a loose dog,* & the distant booming hum of the shoreline waves. Amazingly the constant air traffic was more subdued here.

Gorgeous walk today with my sweetie from Egmond aan Zee to Bergen aan Zee through the Wimmenummerduinen, with the Starrevlak. 🇳🇱 The sculpture is by a well-known Egmondse artist Louk van Meurs.

In this #ArnhemStories I take you to the vibrant neighborhood Klarendaal!
I do everything on my bike, and today I rode her to CycleNation, where she will be fabulously tuned for the coming year.
On the way I passed Molen de Kroon and the cosy ABC Libertas café & secondhand book store 📕☕️
You’re looking down at the front of a red electric bike and see the brick road as well as the knees of the biker. The viewpoint is from someone riding a bike and looking down at the street. Here you are looking at the windmill in the Arnhem neighbourhood of Klarendaal, de Kroon. It is made of stone, painted grey, and the four blades are not turning at the moment. There is a walkway around the middle section of the windmill and there are bright coloured flags hanging in front of it. The sky is filled with low hanging clouds. This shows the front of a brightly painted red shop with ornate windows lining the top and a big showroom window painted full of fanciful shapes of bicycles and wheels. The store is called cycle nation and there is an electric bike standing in front of it with huge bike bags. From the sidewalk, this photo frames a large window with the words Libertas Arnhems Boeken Café. Through the window, you can see the back of a couch with plants around it. The light is on, and there are books lining all the walls of this book café.
