In 1976, I was denied a credit card in my name, because I was recently divorced. The banker said to me, “you are a recently divorced woman. And we know that recently divorced women are overly emotional, and you would abuse your credit. Therefore, we are denying you a card.“

Thank you for this. I’m actively involved with the local Democrats in Ciscomani’s district, and we will be watching for the announcement

It kind of is, and I think changing your last name to his last name is dangerous these days. I got married for the third time (the charm!) at age 72, and my name is the same as what's on my birth certificate. Friends: DON'T change your name!

I think the best thing to do is to get a passport if you don't have one. That process will establish your citizenship and you can use the passport as a valid document for registering, should you have to register again.

Marriage certificate isn't enough. My advice is to 1. Get a passport, NOW, if you don't have one. A passport alone will suffice, according to the language in the bill. OR 2. Change your name legally NOW to whatever is on your birth certificate and get a RealID in that name.

I think there are two ways to protect yourself. 1. Get a passport. Now. Go through whatever the process is. OR 2. Legally change your name now to whatever is on your birth certificate. Name on birth certificate = name on death certificate for me.
