I don't know if it made me feel better but I cried when I told them I am a Sr on SS and that is all I have for income. I worked my whole life and paid taxes even when it was a hardship. What little I could invest was lost during the Bush recession. I'm terrified. Is that feeling better?

I was thinking about that if my husband and I lost our SS we would have maybe 6 - 8 months to live on with our savings and stocked food. Being 74 makes it hard to earn any more so I figured without SS and Medicare we'd have to kill ourselves and dogs or starve in the street. Not hyperbole.
