Is AI pushing jobless young people to the far right?
The acceleration of use of AI has led to a shrinking of the job market for graduates. Could that also lead to political discontent?

Doesn't surprise me at all
Folks aren't looking back to learn they are often looking back to ignore the lessons of history and with some weird sense of nostalgia for a bygone era at the same time

One of my fave film quotes Jack Black "High Fidelity"
Guy comes in to the record shop and asks for Hello for his girlfriend....he replies,"Why? Is she in a coma"
With obvious caveat comas aren't funny but this made me think of that scene

I think you'd find this very familiar to the work that you do, in an artistic sense Doug
It made me think of you, Chris and the team plus a number of others who've inspired me to blur the lines & see creativity in and out of work a bit differently

Ceremonies, rituals, markers are important to signal change
and
I think we/ I could have done more to help that transition from a central perspective too but resources were always tight & that was a long time ago

That's a bit sad.
We had a number of celebrations - drinks on the 5th floor, names being shared along with congratulations, a salary hike, a practising certificate and probably more (I was only responsible for the central ones)
I think peeps forget about the comms & the rituals & the meaning

I hear you on the 'noise and distraction' front
I've just been away for a longer stint and spent time with people in real life & broke a bit of a pattern for a while
I get what you mean about savoring time

Stopped buying from Amazon & a no. of others I didn't like the practices of
Try & spend more money with indi's
Not off some apps & in no way totally conscious as a consumer but feel better by trying to do my bit
feel like I'm doing something
