There’s so much going on in the world, and sometimes it feels as though we are suspended between hope and despair, light and darkness. But amidst all of this, today, I held my very first copy of SHELL SONG in my hands. So grateful! (Coming April 15, 2025 from Simon & Schuster/Beach Lane Books). 🐚🎵

🌸 I have a special book reading + signing this Sunday, January 12. Free, open to public! Parkview Presbyterian Church was founded in 1912 by Japanese immigrants, torn apart by World War II, rebuilt as a multicultural community that marked its 110th year in 2022. Reading, book-signing, mochi-making!

So excited to be part of Oshogatsu Festival today at the Japanese American National Museum! 🎍🌸🗻 Los Angeles area friends, I’d love to see you! I’ll be reading THE MOCHI MAKERS at 12:30 PM and 4 PM today.
