I enjoy everything related to video games. In my free time, I write articles about the games I've enjoyed, read books and tinker with different IT projects.
I started playing the game yesterday, and I had an absolute blast with it so far! The graphics are really welcoming, and the gameplay is easy enough to get into, but it has just the right amount of depth added that keeps me engaged! Thank you for creating such an enjoyable title :-) !

Great art direction! In my opinion, the first version looked great too, albeit it had a bit too much bloom and saturation. I think you nailed it near perfectly on the second version!

As I get older, I start to appreciate spring much more; for me, seeing more and more green outside and feeling the sun on my body is a form of therapy 😄!

Just take Katamari Damaci, Journey, The Witness, Baba Is You, and Goat Simulator to list some really random ones. The idea behind them doesn't sound at all compelling on paper, but in the end they really worked out. Maybe having tunnel vision sometimes isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Nowadays we have the privilege to do these fancy things like market research, A/B testing, and generally just have an outlook of what kind of game might get popular, but most of the now legendary designers just went with their guts, even though in quite a few cases people tried to stop them.

One thing that's really common in many game designers, in my opinion, is that they have some kind of vision and fixate on that idea, even though there is absolutely no guarantee it will be successful.

I'm still playing through the first one, but even that is one of the most fun games I've ever played. Simply enjoying your stay in a world that truly deserves to be explored is truly a visceral experience.

Cool setup! Is that a Junji Ito illustration on the right monitor's wallpaper ?

You should be proud of yourself. I feel like hoarding a backlog of games (because many of them were good deals for a cheap price😅) is probably the reason I'm not so enthusiastic about gaming nowadays...

However, given that I'm from a third-world country, if I were to fully commit myself to just video game development, I would like to get some money out of it. Living in a barrel might have been enough for Diogenes, but hardly for the people of today.

That's totally true, and you can definitely be proud of every piece of work that you make yourself. I feel the same, even though my projects are only demos and prototypes, not commercial products - I like the idea of something I've created, and can look back to all these years later.

2) Syberia (2002)
3) Grim Fandango (1998)
4) The Longest Journey (1999)

This might sounds silly, but even I sometimes prioritize Steam solely so I can get access to the community tab, the workshop, write a review for it. Of course all of these could be replaced with alternatives forums and modpages exist for many games, and you can also write reviews virtually anywhere.

I usually buy my games in the storefront that provides me with the cheapest price (Epic is quite generous since it offers regional pricing to my country); however, I think what holds back many people from venturing into different launchers is the social aspect of Steam.

You've phrased this quite well. Also, let us not forget that your time should also have a moneraty value. Working several months on a game just to get 100 dollars from it can be hardly seen as profitable in my eyes.

I completely agree with you. As I see it, many gamedevs working in the industry do it only out of passion, and the only reason AAA games can be made is because these people pour their hearts into the games. Otherwise, the industry itself is flawed from every aspect and this just makes me sad...

Absolutely fascinating video. While I'm only in my early 20s, I also feel like relying only on algorithms and computers to decide for us is just not right.
You've earned a new subscriber; I'm quite interested in watching your other videos now!
