We were there recently and were unaware that you need timed tickets....but a great way to make it work is to go with a guided tour. You'll get a ton of context, and they were available on shorter notice.

Or another country treating their Christians like this...I hear in my church about persecuted Christians around the world, but hard to get our brains around what is happening here.

Fascinating that there was a scale of humanness (a word I did not know existed) that women, pregnant or not, could slide around on....rather than the idea that every freaking woman is 100% human.

If it's such a treat to have your crime reduced by armed soldiers, you'd think he'd be jealous that Trump is only doing it for blue states. Go ahead and request it for Shreveport!

I realize that Dad is oversharing a bit, but he's apparently going for erotic literature here....even if you don't like porn because you feel it's exploitative, this seems like the safest way to go. I feel sorry that Dad doesn't have a more appropriate place to ask his questions.

I really recommend NPR‘s books we love – – formerly book concierge – – for all kinds of ideas and filters. You can find recommended non-fiction about food, or history, or non-fiction that is funny… And they’ve had it for about 10 years, so lots of ideas!

Well, I’m pretty sure that January 6 “hostages“ are peachy keen. So…

None of this passes a smell test. The federal government basically pays for maintenance at Kennedy Center. The arts programs are funded with donations and ticket sales. And people in the arts don't get $500K salaries as a regular thing. I looked at KC typical salaries and they are not insane.

It’s a legal thing. I go to national conferences. It’s not a regional definition. It’s how you name a scholarship after your dead dad and know that it will last for generations.

I work w my school’s endowment. It’s made up almost entirely of specific donations. Money can’t be spent legally, only earnings. If I give to music scholarships the earnings MUST be spent there. It’s not some giant unrestricted pool of cash.

It me, if you substitute "breakfast this morning" for "dinner tonight."

A lot of the Bible defies common sense. Turning the other cheek defies common sense. Loving your neighbor as you love yourself defies common sense. That's why you have a Bible...we could all go around loving our kids and hoarding our wealth and attacking people who attack us without help.
