A fairytale exists Bear Bryant led integration (sadly,
@ESPN, @SInow, @HBO, @Showtime et al still sell it). Facts: In 1971, @Vol_Football 7 Black players, including Sr. team cap Jackie Walker, first @SEC Black All-American. @AlabamaFTBL
2 Black players & one was a JC transfer.

RIP John Robinson.
Robinson’s obituaries fail to include he advanced opportunities for Black coaches. Jimmy Raye only 2nd Black OC in @NFL when JR hired him in 1983 w/@Rams. He needed NFL experience to join his staff from USC. Raye honored in 2022 w/NFL Awards of Excellence.
