The loss of Dr. Jane Goodall runs deep for the little girls who grew up to become defenders of wildlife.. She expanded the boundaries of what we believed we could do. Jane was our beacon.

I will carry her with me in all I do.

What an honor to have shared this earth with Jane Goodall.🖤 Her loss has carved a void in our world that could never be filled. It will be a privilege to watch even her memory continue to change the world, but today I’m just sad. May we all hold even a fraction of her conviction. #janegoodall #jane

A very important person left us today.

It’s strange knowing that certain communities will feel the weight of this loss tremendously, while the rest of the world goes on moving.
But he made a difference, and I will remember him forever.

Volunteered with Ladles of Love in Cape Town for #MandelaDay 🧡Giving back to honor Nelson Mandela’s legacy and support food security in South Africa.

I heard it was the largest single day volunteer event in the world?? Either way, it was great to help a little. Thanks for having me Cape Town!

📣 Just published: A landmark study using 20 years of data from 133 LMICs, fixed-effects Poisson models, and dynamic microsimulation forecasting reveals a staggering toll.

⚠️ Cutting #USAID support could result in 14 million preventable deaths by 2030.
4.5 million of them would be children under 5.

Ok #56 came quicker than expected 🇿🇲

Walked over Victoria Falls Bridge, where mist from Mosi-oa-Tunya rises, the border blurs, and just like that I made it to #Zambia

Hit my 55th country today 🇿🇼

A country with one of Africa’s largest black rhino populations, elephant populations, and wild dog populations. No wonder it’s been at the top of my list. #zimbabwe #wildlife

The dissolution of the #EPA research arm & shift of scientific functions to policy offices signals a profound politicization of environmental governance in the United States. Beyond staff cuts, this risks eroding scientific independence—turning #evidence-based regulation into policy-driven science.

Nearly 400 experts were dismissed from the National Climate Assessment — the report that guides how the US responds to #climatechange

We don’t need a report to see the crisis, but we need it to guide strategy, funding & protect the most impacted

Make no mistake- gutting the process is the strategy

👗#fashion IS a statement but I want to make sure I’m saying the right thing.

We consume so much every day without even realizing — fast fashion, fast scrolling, fast food.

i Loved the #BeattheWaste campaign from @unep.org & got inspired as I head to the thrift store to find some field gear✌🏽

📍 #DYK In Colombia, Ecuador & Peru: USAID partnered w/ UNODC to conduct the agencies’ first-ever research on gender & wildlife crime—a milestone in intersectional criminology examining overlooked social dimensions.

I am beyond proud to say that I led this research. I poured my entire heart into it.

USAID’s approach to conservation is strategic:
Over 55% of the biodiversity funding is directed toward 13 priority “Tier One” countries and regions in most need.

💰Want to see the breakdown of where the money goes?
Here’s the full funding table, listing USAID’s investments by country and region:

Well $375.4 million of that .7% went to #CONSERVATION. 🌎

And since that’s the world I work in—& I’ve been analyzing foreign aid reports long before it became cool—

Over the next few days I’m going to break down USAID’s latest Report to Congress (FY 2023) on their biodiversity & forestry programs.

Trayvon Martin should be celebrating his 30th birthday today. 💐

I’m sorry this world failed you. Happy Birthday #forever17

I had one of those kind of days that will stay etched into your memory forever. Antarctica is like landing on a different planet. 🤯 Im in my 3rd season and it never gets less mind blowing..

We were the first humans to have ever kayaked this uncharted glacial lake in South Georgia.

It just so happened to have a rather undocumented king penguin colony on its edge. Probably over 100,000 birds

Definitely not aspiring for a normal life. #antarctica #penguins #glacialretreat

I got to cruise along side a SEVENTH generation Falkland Islander who also happens to be a naturalist🌿

We smelled plants. We ate plants. We talked plants. #DYK the soil here lacks the minerals necessary for the production of anthocyanins, so their flowers are only white & yellow🌼 #TheMoreYouKnow

Checkin out the locals at the beach☀️

Magellanic penguins looking adorb at Gypsy Cove in the Falkland Islands today. Interestingly, this area was the last of the Falklands to be cleared of landmines post-conflict

Now we get to visit & witness this amazing colony in all its sub Antarctic glory🐧

They call this place El Fin del Mundo
The World's End...but it's been my launching point to see so much more of the world than I ever thought possible.

Sailing into my 3rd season on the Antarctic Peninsula 🇦🇶 Will try to share highlights from the bottom of the world #Antarctica #womeninstem #penguin

🇺🇾 In Montevideo for a quick work pitstop and, as always, hyper-fixating on stats about where I am, so in case you didn’t know:

#Uruguay is a global leader in renewable energy, with 98% of its electricity coming from renewable sources. ☀️💨🌊

They also have pretty 8PM sunsets.

Hey 🦋 app, some butterfly news:

The monarch butterfly proposed to be listed as threatened under the ESA👏🏽& while this might look bad, it’s actually a win, bc remember: it takes decades of advocacy to reach this point.

This is how we start really addressing the factors threatening their existence!

Since we’re all getting to know each other: This explains my work on gender & wildlife crime well!

(I know you’re suppose to share the event BEFORE it happens but then I wouldn’t be dropping the social media ball & I’m really good at that)

Thanks to Dr Melissa Price for inviting me to speak!
