Sitting in meetings listening to coworkers I know are staunch Republicans bitching about the new graduation requirements being put in place floors me. I just want to scream, "this is what you voted for!" Who do they think is making these changes in Indiana?

If you support abolishing the Dept of Ed and letting states take over, keep in mind that those federal policies help support and maintain special education programs. In a state like Indiana that is actively trying to destroy public ed, this will be devastating to our most vulnerable kids.

Love that we have an amazing pastry chef who does fun pop ups at our favorite local coffee shop! Lulu's Coffee and Bakehouse and Beurre_Sec are the best!

Well, I made it a full day teaching with a fractured rib and a smidge of a collapsed lung. It was rough, and I am tired but thankful for great students who helped me out. Worried I wasn't gonna make it when I had to sneeze on the way into school. That was a new level of pain!

Well, it's official, I have a fractured rib and a minimally collapsed lung. When I fall, I go all in and do it with gusto! Despite being at an all-inclusive resort, I was absolutely sober. It was the hotel slippers on the marble floor that did me in.

Did I have to run through the Houston airport? Sure did. Did I maintain my streak of never missing s flight? You bet!
For the record, I was NOT the one that booked the connecting international flight with only an hour layover--which was partially eaten up by de-icing!

If parenting my daughter has taught me anything, it's that I could never be a math teacher. It's not that I can't do the math...it's that I cannot get her to understand how to break the problems into steps to solve.

As a teacher who is worried about the safety of my students, I totally support e-learning days because of this awful weather. As a parent who has been home with these monsters for 2.5 weeks now, I need this snow to melt and for us to go back tomorrow!

I am glad I got to spend the first half of winter break enjoying Disneyland with my family. The constant grading since I returned home is misery! 13 essays on Tues, 33 yesterday and today. Ugh!

I grew up in Anaheim, but moved to Indiana as a teen. Disneyland has always been one of my favorite places. I am so excited to celebrate Christmas with my family here this year!

Look what my sister got me for Christmas! We are traveling, so I got to open it early. The brownie definitely tastes like a brownie...a very potent brownie! Added a little oatmilk and it was delicious!
