Cal Raleigh has been on fire since he got a torpedo bat last week. But the slugging #Mariners switch-hitter is only using it from the left side.

Why?

He explained to @shannondrayer.bsky.social on The Cal Raleigh Show, plus talked his success in Toronto.

Cal Raleigh just walked in from Field 2 in Peoria in full uniform. Thought he would be long gone since he wasn't on the away game roster. Nope. Wanted to get some extra at bats. Got six of them in 2 minor league games.

It will not be a matter of just going with the platoon advantage. The Mariners plan for Jurrangelo Cijntje.

Ryan Sloan first batter. Pitch clock vio ball, 95 swing, 97 swing, slider swing. K.

Cijnteje was up to 98.9 from the right side.

Hollander on broadcast said the working plan is to start him primarily as a RHP who may or may not go through a pocket of righties 1 time as a LHP. Will throw a RH bullpen on his side day, then pitch in relief as a LHP.

Dipoto with media said Brash should be ready to go for spring training. Best case scenario, a return 3rd week in April but acknowledged things can happen once rehabbing players start throwing in (spring) games.

Troy Taylor suffered a lat strain last week, will go slow with him.
