One of my children is heading to UNC-C in the fall, and I grieve that this is part of the school's history and pray it won't be part of their future.
Six years ago today, the last day of spring semester classes at UNC Charlotte became a nightmare. A former student with a Glock pistol opened fire inside a classroom full of students giving final presentations. In minutes, he shot and killed two students and wounded four others.

I just started wearing glasses this year, and I usually don’t wear them when I cook. This morning was my first “opening the hot oven with my glasses on” experience.
