Life has dealt me some wonderful cards and more than my share of terrible, but I’m still here.

Well. That ended abruptly due to mismanagement of resources.

If you can, please help us get through this difficult season of unemployment. gofund.me/f928c3e8

If you know any possible remote offerings (fundraising, editing, community engagement, etc), please hit me up.

Wow.

Let’s not hasten anyone’s death, though, please?
Joni Ernst, at her town hall last night.

When the crowd said people will die due to Medicaid and SNAP cuts, she said: "well we all are going to die." 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Vaccines save lives. Why is this so hard to grasp?
Good God, vaccine hesitancy has gone from 12% to 26% among Republican parents in the last four years.

Using xenophobia to distract the American people from their planned cuts to #Medicaid is a sick and disgusting tactic.

One of my children is heading to UNC-C in the fall, and I grieve that this is part of the school's history and pray it won't be part of their future.
Six years ago today, the last day of spring semester classes at UNC Charlotte became a nightmare. A former student with a Glock pistol opened fire inside a classroom full of students giving final presentations. In minutes, he shot and killed two students and wounded four others.

As House Republicans move ahead with their Billionaire Tax Cuts this week, remember: They’re cutting Head Start for kids in need to fund tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. www.edweek.org/policy-polit...

Here's the question for Republicans right now:

"The Energy and Commerce Committee controls Medicaid. Can you explain to me how the $800billion in mandatory spending cuts asked of them will be possible without cuts to Medicaid?"

The math doesn't work unless Medicaid is cut.

“Our hearts are prone to seek our own good over the good of others, and we love to call ourselves righteous while doing it.

Instead, the call to follow Christ calls us to love others as we love ourselves, to love our neighbors, and even—and especially—to love our enemies.”

Trump has been flexing his power through executive orders, and there's the potential for one targeting the Education Department.

Tomorrow I have an interview for my dream job with an organization I love. I’ve never wanted a job as badly as I want this one, and I’m uniquely qualified and expect to have a good shot.

Prayers and love and good vibes and crossed fingers please!

I know I’ll be hurting.

Good for Michelle, I say.

Not attending the inauguration of a convicted felon and leader of an attempted coup who disrespects everything democracy holds dear?

I respect her principled integrity.

They say “raise up a child in the way he should go,” but it’s not a promise. Sometimes you might tell a child to put a few books on a shelf, and they do this. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I miss Lee, & I miss our lives before Lee died.

Grief is heavy, especially around the holidays. Please check in on your grieving friends, even if they seem to be “fine,” even if their loss was years ago.

This is our sixth Christmas without him, and it still stings.

Check on your grieving friends.

Life is especially hard in this current season. I’ve been out of work for three months, depending largely on the generosity of others.

If you have any writing, editing, fundraising, grant writing, program managing, inclusivity, or operations directing jobs or leads, please pass them along, please.
