Is it too much to ask for that the people who run science based government agencies weren’t the same kids who had their science tests handed back to them face down?

Am I the only one that thinks some of these online gambling ads are not so low key sad? Like someone is vacuuming their house and preparing for a dinner party and also gambling? All while a gambling addicts hotline number flashes below.

I think the most insulting part of AI customer service on the phone is the fake typing noise they add. Like don’t insult my intelligence like that. I know this isn’t some lady working in a call center diligently typing to direct my call.

I’m learning German for a trip to Austria and the podcast that I’m learning from was talking about where German is spoken. They list the usual places and then go “and there’s a community of German speakers in Argentina and Brazil” and like BRO! How are you gonna just breeze by that and not say why

Research and whiskey. I highly recommend this book. After Emancipation an effort was made to record oral/written testimony and history from formerly enslaved folks. I’m interested in the framework of birth control as a form of resistance among enslaved women.

Enjoying “The Wedding People” so far. I enjoy the style choice of switching from active to passive voices which I think adds to the out of body detachment the protagonist feels. The premise is a woman checks into an experience hotel in RI and the hotel is filled with people there for a wedding.
