I get that. As time grows short, I tell myself I should stop writing and start organizing. But there are “new poems to write.” And what a blessing that is.

I weed down to one or so a day, and I do a lot of revising before posting. It’s hard to tell which ones will strike a chord with readers, so once a haiku suits me, I toss it out there to see what happens.

Readers respond based on their own experience; my favs are not always theirs, & vice versa.

I remember! I had to do some reading about the two terms. I use shahai sometimes, too, now thanks to your introduction. 😁

Both haiga and shahai are correct. Shahai is a newer term specific to haiku + photography. I like the old, more inclusive term haiga to retain historical connection of haiku combined with other visual arts, which goes way back.
