I have just acquired a vintage Saxony Spinning Wheel. There was a little panic when it took 48 hours of wd40, dawn dish soap, a copper scrubbie, and a straw cleaner brush to get the whorl off and the gunk inside the bobbin shaft removed so the bobbin could spin.
