it hurts to see him get watered down to something someone needs to fix.
if all one wants to do is "fix" shane, then they don't truly love him as much as they claim they do. it just shows that if their s/o or friend were in that position, they would see them as someone to fix rather than be there for

same, i very heavily relate to shane as well, as i've been struggling with my mental health for as long as i can remember.
shane is one of the best representations of depression i've seen by far, and everytime he talks about how it feels, i feel it down to the bone.

mental health doesn't work that way, it doesn't even have a cure, because it's not a disease. people who struggle with it just learn to live w it rather than it being cured
