Rip It Up And Start Again. I just finished reading this great book about post-punk. I love Simon Reynolds’ writing. I’m about halfway through “Energy Flash”, his tome on the history of electronic music.

Today, cooler weather. I worked on arrangements for my next album, taught lessons on Bach, Frantz Casseus, and John Coltrane, drove my daughter all over town to her afterschool activities. It’s shaping up to be a nice fall despite the fact that we are racing towards full blown fascism. 🍂

I played a solo acoustic set in Lisbon in the most magnificent hall I’ve ever been in, to the most people I’ve ever played for. I played for an hour, but it felt like one minute. Thank you so much to Jazz Em Agosto and to everyone who came out to share this time with me.
