But if you can afford it, and you're cold despite reasonable efforts to be warm, it isn't virtuous to suffer. It's okay to turn the heating on.

Obviously there are people who need to save money by just doing the bare minimum -- in which case I am absolutely an advocate of heated blankets, heated gloves (I use these anyway unless it's VERY warm inside), big hoodies, hot water bottles, etc.
And sure, layering is good, wasting energy is bad.

Thank you. Some of these are very groan. I still haven't got the laptop, just totally drawing a blank there, but at least now I'm at 19/20!
