This is Stetson, done in acrylic on 11x14" canvas. I'm not having the best luck uploading timelapse videos on Bluesky, but I have been able to get them through on FB/IG @shamrockstudios2017 and YouTube @shamrockstudios5825. I like when a mandala background works well with the subject!

Got to visit the Abingdon Arts Depot today to see the Virginia Highlands Festival Juried Fine Arts Show. My piece, "Storm Warning", was accepted. I love that it was hung next to another horse painting, by artist Shannon Piek Mathena. Horses need a herd!

I love photographing dock diving. The dogs are having so much fun, and it's never a bad thing to get splashed a little when they hit the water on a hot day! Photos from NADM NADD Regional Qualifier are up on my website now.

@solfabulous.bsky.social Here are some sneak peeks from this weekend's qualifier at NADM's K-9 Performance Events . Even though it was HOT 🥵, the dogs were having so much fun jumping in the pool. I'm hoping to have pictures ready sometime on Wednesday.

I am thrilled that this piece found a wonderful home with a couple who saw it on display while they were on vacation. They fell in love with it and said they couldn't stop thinking about it, so they came back and bought it! It makes me so happy when my work ends up with the perfect collector(s).

Yesterday was a great day at Smoky Mountain K9 Sports in Morristown for their first dock diving event of the year. There were some newbies at their first competition and they knocked it out of the park! I was so impressed with all of the dogs.

"Storm Warning" won an Award of Excellence at the 2025 Appalachian Art Show several weeks ago. I took it back to Southwest Virginia Cultural Center & Marketplace today where it will be available for purchase. Tracy handmade a custom frame for this piece using barnwood from our farm.

This memorial portrait of Rhythm made it home to his mom today. Rhythm was a galgo, a Spanish version of a greyhound. He loved to eat broccoli and carry his toys on walks. You will be missed, sweet boy.

This is my girl, Daisy. We had a mini photo shoot in our woods today. These are straight out of the camera. I may try to edit them in the future, but right now I have some other work to do. Just wanted to share because I think she's super cute!

I always have fun at the All American Dog Sports Halloween NADAC Trial in Blacksburg, but this year, I get to come out for their spring🌷 trial, too! I will be there Saturday and Sunday. Best wishes for clean, fast, safe runs and lots of fun with your best friend(s). See ya in the morning!!
Happy Earth Day! This is my favorite tree in our field. I measured the circumference a couple of years ago and used a chart online for the type of tree and our zip code to estimate the age, and it calculated it to be approximately 200 years old!

I just found out that "Storm Warning" won an Award of Excellence at the Kingsport Art Guild juried Appalachian Art Show this weekend. It feels good to be recognized when you put so much time and effort into creating something from the heart.

Pretty excited to find out that my colored pencil drawing, "Storm Warning", was accepted into the juried fine arts Appalachian Art Show in Kingsport, TN. The show runs through May 20th at the Kingsport Renaissance Center. Fingers crossed this piece finds a new home during the show.

Pretty excited to find out that my colored pencil drawing, "Storm Warning", was accepted into the juried fine arts Appalachian Art Show in Kingsport, TN. The show runs through May 20th at the Kingsport Renaissance Center. Fingers crossed this piece finds a new home during the show.
