Ah now, I do have a soft spot for Disintegration. Great album, though nowhere near a Best Album conversation, and I find more light and dark in it than it sounds like you do!

Yeah, I‘m sure I’d do the same if I was the producer. It does make the sceptic position look sillier than it really is though!

He’s also obviously been asked not to say “the most obvious explanation is that it’s a load of old nonsense that you just made up”, which I suspect is the case for a few of them.

"Moderately fluent" seems like a pretty bold aim, depending what you mean by that. Not sure starting formally at 5 rather than 7 would make much difference.
