Buddhist/Unitarian UNIVERSALIST, stained glass artist, potter, care-giver, and very poor gardener. The most counter-cultural thing that one can do in this day and age is to slow down.
I grew up in SF, moved to L.A., NY, & DC, before moving back to SF. The SF habit of not making eye-contact/saying hello to people we pass by is not new. When I moved to DC people took offense by my not greeting them, so I learned to do so. Now back in SF people look at me weird. Maybe it's worse now
