I’m so sorry for your loss Roy. I met Dawn years ago and never forgot her such was the beauty of her soul. I would rib her on X and she just got me. I can’t imagine what you’re going through but she would want you to stay strong. You’ll get through this. DMs open if you need to reach out.

Yes. Baffles me why so many teachers can’t see fun as anything other than mindless laughing.

Getting that motivation can be a skill.

At the forefront of all my lessons is the initial hook, the starting motivator to encourage attention, focus and a desire to learn.

It’s depressing how many seem to think all they have to do is teach and expect pupils to want to learn.

Bit concerning. The subset of voters is not a representative sample if the profession so using the results to guide policy is a bit odd.

Yes. Statistical likelihood. CAT scores in year 7 have a 0.8 correlation coefficient with GCSE outcomes for maths. Perfect data points to moderate, challenge and reflect upon a child’s progress and arrest underachievement where it’s possible to do so.

I hope not. I’d like to see an end to the echo chamber that is social media having some influence on government policy.
