Is it just me, or has the wonderful fragrance of basmati being cooked, almost vanished?
Was a time when the house would fill with the aroma of basmati. Doesn't happen anymore. Tried many brands as well as unbranded. 🤷🏾

Mika Waltari approaches the Akhenaten era from a very different perspective of a common man. Waltari also takes his protagonist to other places like Babylon and Crete during the same era.

I loved both. Re read them last year, still excellent. Except that since he wrote them, there have been many more discoveries at Tel-al Amarna, the site of Akhenaten's new capital.
