New fieldwork, this time for "Bimkom". I'm always excited to meet new people and go to new places, and always sad to hear new but old stories of injustice and settlers' violence, this time in Bedouin dialect.

Another Friday in the Jordan Valley. Grazing was peaceful, dusty and melony. The next day, settlers came and did what they do best: inflict fear, ruin anything Palestinian, and destroy the environment.

A heatwave hit the region between Fri. to Sat. While I was trying to capture the heat, sorrounded by A and his flock, A's neighbor S was attackes by three young men from a Northern Jordan Valley settlement. They wounded him, stole three sheep, took his phone and sprayed him with pepper spray.

"Even my hat has a hat". Doesn't it belong to the "that's what she said" category?

Some images from my last visits to the Jordan Valley. Don't let the beauty mislead you. Palestinian cows graze in fire zones, poor in grass due to the drought; hilltop youth play loud (Eyal Golan🤢) music to keep the herders from sleeping. But as long as the herders are there, we are there with them.

The situation in the Jordan Valley has deteriorated significantly. The violent and ceaseless attacks by settlers, and supported by security forces, now requires activists to be present in the villages 24/7 to provide a protective presence or to accompany shepherds.

This is how it looks like: an almost rainless "winter" and another new mini-outpost with weaponized Israeli flag, Northern Jordan Valley, the West Bank

Will they listen to one of their own?

A story of land grab, environment, climate, and occupation in the Jordan Valley—told through four plants: almonds, asphodel, colocynth, and corn. Click the link for the full story

Ramadan under settler violence isn't easy. But the Palestinian shepherds in the Jordan Valley endure. Sometimes, even qatayef is a form of resistance. At H&L's home, we filled storebought pancakes from Tubas with homemade sheep cheese. The qatayefs were sweeter than the sugar inside them.

Can't argue with that, and so happy for Yuval and Basel. Bridge over a highway in the center of Israel

Nazi friendly guy, war criminal and a random convict meet in a bar. Oh, sorry. it's nor a bar

A beautiful weekend in the Jordan Valley: settlers harassed the herds, and the grass is shallow due to little rain. Still, the shepherds grazed, milked, made cheese, sat by the fire, drank sugary tea, talked about Hill Top Youth’s violence, and hoped for a better week.

I'm not American, not immigrant, not Christian, not religious at all. But I admire Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde.

Only when I see them go home will I know Netanyahu didn’t kill the deal. He's killed so many and so much already

Why is the flock in the cornfield in midwinter? Land grabs + climate change have left Palestinian shepherds in the Jordan Valley with almost no sources of feed. Out of necessity and creativity, they’re resorting to their summer practices. The corn, by the way, is amazing

Such a beautiful image. All of them are gone now, and the current "leaders" of these three states are nothing to look up to. Have a good journey, Jimmy. You will always be a symbol of hope for peace

The combination of climate change and occupation is hitting the West Bank hard, playing into the hands of violent outpost settlers. The Palestinian shepherds of the Jordan Valley are struggling to feed their livestock but aren’t giving up. Follow me for more on this.

Settlers' new formula: the smaller you build, the more land you can grab. Why build a town, when you can build - in literally one day - an outpost? why build an outpost, when it's easier to put up a pen and bring few cows? why build a farm, if you can take over a spring and all the land around it?
