The fundamental bad thing about this situation is that this mimics the end stages of dynasties and empires, wherepon governance is done away from governments, away from specialized beaurocrats and towards tightly held personal networks of people with little sense or expertise.

Sure, Trump is a protected participant through his closeness to the nexus of blackmail politics, and so he holds power. All the same the situation is setup so governance happens well away from public.

The thing about Trump, tho', is that I think he's kind of a potted fascist, same as all the potted leftists and liberals in current discourse that build up a narrative of thought and spend credibility on pro-gov't statement on some controversial policy or another.

Gaza was still the single most concrete factor, tho'. And before reading the article, I'm assuming you're only thinking of arabs and muslims who might have defected. It affected way more than just those people.
