300 down! 200 incoming, so 300 more to go to get up there safely. A bit behind because of power outages limiting work + new meds making me super sick, but I'm on track to meet the bare minimum at least. Mattress and such can come later.

your conflating a lot of things that are not related there.

There is no emperical evidence that is a general case, that is a twist on purity culture twisting frankly poorly collected data. Sex work, like most high-stakes labor work, has a lot of issues with the exploitation of labor. Doesnt mean that the work and product it's self is the problem.

I will point out that bluesky is not completely non algorithmic.

leftism is a huge umbrella of political ideologies, it includes ideologies rooted in extreme utilitarianism and consequentialism ethics.

And even beyond that, there are a lot of systemic reasons why people are not going to new facts/ideas. Individual agency has a place, but on a 'general public' level and not individual actions, poverty, safety, and generational security, relate to why people reject the idea they can be wrong.

Very very basically, education is what we learn, where as intelligence is our capacity to learn and implement it. Memorizing what parts of the brain do is an education-based skill, and implementing it to identify a cause of behavior would be a skill that falls under more intelligence for example.

Yup, or disability, or any number of other things that boil down to if more resources, more time would be available, and more capacity to learn, grow, and pass it on.

Thats more education than intelligence spesfic, and even then I think most people are willing but have not been given the resources. And not just in terms of direct resources, but energy and time.

Id add on, that it's not even that it's just taught that way (it is) it's also that the average person does not have the resources to build on skills or learn, or even share what they know without noticeable monetary return.
October 24, 2024 at 3:47 AM
its really not, its just that everyone has there own hurdles, and barriers that affect their broad intelligence, very few people don't have some subject or skill they show intelligence in. Talent and intelligence is far from rare though.

Am genuinely just trying to figure out where this idea comes from, because it's not unique to you or even this platform, it's become more prevalent iv noticed. It's interesting to me because topics like this relating to sociology, especially digital sociology is interesting as well as useful.
October 24, 2024 at 2:02 AM
its not though, not based on any major public facing data at least.

I don't get where this statement comes from, the off-digital history is a common though skewed idea, but where is your age metric coming from? The only data publically available as far as I am aware has the biggest cohorts switching from 18-24, and 25-34
