Although the Not-Presidential Commission is being formed today and none of them know it yet, their first report and recommendations are due...yesterday. Like for real.

With enough of our voices rising in unison against the invaders, America will once again be “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

With that, I leave you to ponder your decision. But do not take too long. America needs every one of us to speak loudly and clearly, just as we used to as elementary school children.

We the people have a choice to make. Do we support democracy, or do we support fascism? Fortunately, it is not a difficult choice. Fascism is incompatible with America, and it always has been.

No group of plutocrats is entitled to simply end the American experiment, let alone a foreign dictator. The United States will survive this onslaught. As in the first Civil War, determining which states are united, when, and on what terms, is the key to victory.

We should welcome the coming battle to defend the freedoms that men and women have fought and died to win and maintain over generations. We did not defeat Nazism eighty years ago only to see it resurge in this grotesque form.

Public funding of elections is non-negotiable. Only then can we truly move forward.

Once an alliance takes shape it can begin debating its new Constitution, using the United States Constitution, with all of its amendments plus language reversing and forever precluding the United States Supreme Court decisions of Citizens United, and the reversal of Roe v. Wade, as a starting point.

Vladimir Putin and his two servants will be left with an increasingly small and increasingly unmanageable sliver of land that will not be able to sustain itself politically or economically. It will be painful and difficult to achieve, but there appears to be no other way forward.

We should grant him the opposite of his request, and in so doing, achieve the isolating effects needed here. It is time to split the Union in order to preserve it. Those states that oppose tyranny must immediately secede, and form a new alliance.

Through his aggression aimed at our northern neighbors and his interest in distant lands, the impostor Donald Trump has expressed his interest in empire-building, as if he aims to repeat the story arc of his idol, Adolf Hitler.

The best approach is to identify and isolate the pathogen that has infected democracy’s bloodstream. We have already taken the first step: despite the American collaborators who made it a success, this is a project that is Russian in origin. The second step is more difficult.
